Youth Matters
Travelling with a mission
Travelling with a mission
The HKFYG Jockey Club Media 21 (M21), an integrated multimedia centre, offers young people a way to unleash their creativity, imagination and innovative spirit Now, M21 has issued a challenge to young people who like to travel. It offers support and sponsorship to teams who prepare trips overseas with a plan and a purpose. These young people offer voluntary help to explore social problems and film what they find for broadcast online.

For example, take a look at the video made by the "full-time traveller" team that has been to Cambodia to help child scavengers on a giant rubbish tip in Phnom Penh. Another team is now in Tokyo. Another will go to the Maldives.

Having a mission in mind, being useful and purposeful develops in young people a sense of responsibility towards those who are less fortunate than themselves. Take a look at the first videos on the M21 website. They give a glimpse of another world. They show how travel can truly broaden horizons.
