Youth Matters
Learning from young people
HKFYG Lee Shau Kee College staff & DSE students
The latest results from Hong Kong's public examinations were just released and with them came personal stories from candidates who really touched the heart. Who could not fail to be moved by Tsang Tsz-kwan who has overcome her inability to see and hear and feel through her fingertips, relying on her lips to read Braille to score well? Or by Terry Tsz Cho-ho, a student at the HKFYG Lee Shau Kee College in Tin Shui Wai, who through sheer hard work, became one of only nine students to score top marks in seven subjects?

These two young people, in spite of the odds stacked against them, worked hard, with commitment and passion to realize their goals. And this is why they should serve as an inspiration to the rest of us, young people and adults alike. We are often ready to grumble and moan about the things we don't have. We are good at making excuses or blaming circumstance when we fall short. Sometimes we remain satisfied to stay within our limits and can't be bothered to push ourselves further.

Tsz-kwan and Terry show us otherwise and perhaps the best way to congratulate their fine achievements is to learn from their example.
