at HKFYG Parent-child Mediation Centre

Four free talks for parents are coming up at the HKFYG Parent-child Mediation Centre with the support of the Vocational Training Council in March and April. The first, DSE tips for Parents will be given by Dr Esther Ho Yuk-fan, chair of the Hong Kong Association of Careers Masters and Guidance Masters on
16 March, 3-5pm, at the Hong Kong Design Institute in Tiu Keng Leng.Three
others on different topics will follow, on 23 March, 3-5pm at Youth College, Kwai Fong, 6 April, 3-5pm at CNEC Lau Wing Sang Secondary School, Chai Wan and 20 April, 3-5pm at Heung Yee Kuk Building, Sha Tin. To enroll after

Seoul Study Tour on Traditional Culture and Advanced Technology for 30 students from HKFYG Lee Shau Kee College in Tin Shui Wai
From 28 March till 4 April, this student study tour will include visits to the Science Museum, the Digital Pavilion and the Samsung 4D Museum followed by the Gyeongbokgung Palace and the Bukchon Hanok Village. This fascinating trip is being arranged for 30 students by HKFYG's Youth Exchange unit. They will stay with Korean families and meet Korean students, learning about their history, life style and culture while seeing how advanced Korean applied technology can enhance daily life. HKFYG Jockey Club International a cappella Festival 2013 from 14 March till 27 April
This star-studded international festival, with shows from mid-March to late April, is being sponsored again by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. It begins on 14 March and from then till 27 April, there will be many events including 5 indoor and 4 outdoor concerts, plus a series of workshops. Overseas performers on 15 and 16 March at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium are The Exchange (US), MayTree (Korea) and Oxford's Out of the Blue (UK). Tickets, from Urbtix, HK$100; $50 for full-time students, senior citizens aged 60 or over and people with disabilities. Secondary school students can contact the Head of their school's Music Panel to arrange free admission. On 2 April, the 4th overseas group, The House Jacks (US) will be singing at City Hall. YBHK Young Entrepreneurial Course Teacher Appreciation Dinner cum Lunar New Year Gathering - Celebrating the Year of the Snake!

Trainers and students who took part in the first phase of the Youth Business Hong Kong (YBHK) Young Entrepreneurial Course celebrated its success and welcomed the Lunar New Year with about 70 YBHK entrepreneurs, mentors and partners at a gathering on 6 February. Sponsored by Love Ideas Love Hong Kong, the multi-phase course in entrepreneurship equips young people with aspirations to run their own business, promoting a culture of entrepreneurship and enabling new start-ups. Sir David Trench Fund for Recreation supports HKFYG projects
HKFYG's Tsuen Wan Youth S.P.O.T. and Sai Kung & Wong Tai Sin Outreaching Social Work Team have received funding of over HK$25,000 from the Sir David Trench Fund for Recreation. The grants will be used to purchase equipment for recreational projects including table tennis, high jump, rock climbing, fitness, kung fu, camping and snooker, destined to give youth at risk an attractive alternative to hanging out on the streets.
