Youth Matters

A resolution to care and share

Lunar New Year is a time when families and friends gather together, celebrating with good food and treats. However, there are many in the community who cannot afford to celebrate lavishly and who may even be alone.

Our Neighbourhood First initiative aims to ensure that those who are especially vulnerable do not miss out on the joy of this season. Showing their care for others, teams of young volunteers have been offering special delicacies to the elderly and those in need. They have also been helping with cleaning and household chores, ensuring that everything is spick and span and ready to welcome the New Year.

Let us emulate their example, and make a new year resolution to care for others and share our good fortune with those who have less. In this way, we can be assured that the Year of the Dragon will be one of positive energy and good fortune for all!
Congratulations
Our congratulations go to eight award-winning students from the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education and the Federation's Leadership 21. The students just won the Gold Award and Silver Awards in the Gifted Angels - Service Learning Competition. The Gold Award went to those who visited chronically ill children in hospital and built long-lasting friendships. The Silver Award went to students who worked with the mentally challenged retardation to eliminate prejudice against them.
