Walking side by side
Five thousand walkers will set out with us this Sunday 28 November, on the 50th Anniversary Walkathon. We will follow the path to Taipo from Hong Kong Science Park in Shatin, and with each step
we'll raise money through sponsorship of the walkers. Chief Secretary for Administration, The Hon Henry Tang, GBM, GBS, JP, is our Guest of Honour at the kick-off ceremony.

The climax of our Golden Jubilee year will be the 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner on 6 December 2010 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre Convention Hall. Chief Executive, The Hon Donald Tsang, GBM, and Mr Peng Qinghua, Minister of the Liaison Office, Central People's Government in the HKSAR, will be the Guests of Honour on this very special occasion. To all of you, our loyal sponsors, donors, co-organizers and collaborators, we owe a huge vote of thanks. Without you with us, side by side, we could not have done our work, serving Hong Kong's youth for the last fifty years.

Thank you! We cannot say it often enough.

It was co- organized by HKFYG Jockey Club Cheung Wah Youth SPOT, the Department of Applied Social Studies of the City University of Hong Kong and CCC Kei San Secondary School. This novel volunteer project involved over 50 youth volunteers and ten couples over 60 years old. The couples celebrated their weddings with a ceremony in a chapel at a youth camp in Ma On Shan on 21 November, Senior Citizen's Day in Hong Kong. The aim was to give them an unforgettable memory for their golden age because none of them had enjoyed the luxury of a wedding ceremony in their younger days. The volunteers shared the experience and the dream of a diamond wedding. HKFYG's partners were Bare Best Cosmetics, the Rose Bride Wedding Co, the School Campus TV Association and the Social Welfare Department Opportunities for the Elderly Project.
