Anti-drug resource kit launch
Anti-Drug Resource Kit for Local Schools
The undeniable, rising trend of drug abuse among young people,
especially with ketamine, cannabis, thinners and cough medicine, has been revealed in recently released figures. A survey of 94 primary and 112 secondary schools showed that 23,000 students at 90% of these schools were involved, and an alarming 60 per cent plus get their drugs free.* As part of the response, today sees the launch of an Anti-Drug Resource Kit developed by HKFYG. The kit will be distributed free throughout Hong Kong via the Education Bureau, to all primary and secondary schools, supplemented by a booklet for every teacher.

The resource kit is supported by the Beat Drugs Fund and contains guidelines on handling drug related cases, such as what to do if anybody suspects substance abuse or the hiding and selling of drugs in school. There are pointers to training programmes and advice on when to seek help from a School Social Worker. All will be reinforcing a strong message to stay away from drugs, always. The Federation is determined to help students and schools tackle this problem. Call the Hotline, 186186 for help.

Visit the Federation's website: http://antidrug.u21.hk to find out more.
