For those who are disappointed with their results, alternatives are suggested to encourage and give hope. For those who have done better, but are unsure of what to do next, the staff help point out options for further advancement. Parents too are provided with the assistance they require.

Speech Day for Federation's Ching Lok Kindergarten
On Tuesday 18 August, Prof Chan Wing-wah, Head of the Centre for Performing Arts, HKU SPACE, will be the Guest of Honour at this event in the Auditorium at the HKFYG Building in North Point, 2.30-3.30pm. 400 guests, parents and students will be attending. Contact Iris, tel 3755 7107 for details.

Prudential Fly High with Us at Summer Cool
The Fly High with Us Young
Savers Scheme launched a Summer Cool program at the HKFYG Jockey Club Sai Kung Outdoor Training Camp on 11 July 2009. It was a major get-together with team-building for nearly 200 mentors and mentees, creating a bond of understanding and cooperation. Mr Paul Tang, Permanent Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Jeff Walker, Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Hong Kong and Mr Raymond Fung, Assistant Director of Social Welfare (Youth & Corrections) were HKFYG's special guests The Fly High with Us Young Savers Scheme is a pilot project for the Child Development Fund.

100 F5 students relax at Hong Kong Disneyland Park in advent of exam results
Mr Andrew Kam, Hong Kong Disneyland Managing Director and Mr Bosco Wong (黃宗澤), TVB artiste, both said a few encouraging words during a visit by a group of students to the theme park on 3 August. The trip was arranged by HKFYG for students waiting anxiously for their results. A goal-setting session was balanced with relaxation and fun during the visit, 2 days before the results were to be announced. For details, contact Ying-ying, tel 2788 3433.

Be NetWise recruitment expo
A large-scale recruitment drive, seeking 500 Internet Ambassadors for this one-year internet education campaign, was part of an expo on July 29-30 at Olympian City with Mrs Rita Lau, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, officiating. The

expo attracted a big attendance of over 5,500 and 9,000 job applications were received. HKFYG is the central coordinator of the Be NetWise internet education campaign, which will reach out to about 640,000 primary and junior secondary pupils. The campaign will start in September, when frontline help will come on stream at the Federation's NetWise Support Centre for Families. Contact Ken, 2831 9183, for more information.

Sustainable projects with JP Morgan volunteers and
Impact International at Tin Shui Wai
A fun, interactive community service project with staff from JP Morgan's Finance Section in Asia was arranged by Impact International and launched at Tin Yuet, Tin Shui and Tin Yiu Youth SPOTs on Sunday 26 July 2009. Storyboards and storybooks were used by the corporate volunteers to promote sustainability awareness in the community with reading, drama and games. The projects at individual Youth SPOTs focused on materials, water, and energy with the emphasis on re-use and recycling, energy conservation and healthy eating. Creative October - a cappella Fantasia sponsored by the Home Affairs Bureau
The festival will run from 8-13 October with funding from the Home Affairs Bureau, as part of the Creative October event. The a cappella group Focal Plus will be coming from Taiwan to join Takarabune, the all girl group, and Kaichiro Kitamura from Japan. The HKFYG's Hong Kong Melody Makers will be the other star performers at concerts, master classes and workshops. Contact Kenneth, tel 2395 5753 for more details.

Sir TL Yang English Language Ambassadors Outreach
Dr Jack Tang had the great idea of offering a special birthday gift to HKFYG Vice Patron Sir TL Yang. Dr Tang's generous donation means we can set up the TL English Ambassadors Outreach. The ambassadors will be past contestants of the Federation's annual Standard Chartered English Public Speaking Contest. The Ambassadors will visit schools, talk about their experience and promote the effective use of English. Sir TL Yang is Patron of this popular contest and this is a fitting acknowledgement of all his contributions. It has been made possible courtesy of Dr Tang's thoughtful suggestion. UP inspires radio drama competition with Intercontinental Film Distributors
Participants need creativity and teamwork in this competition, co-organized with Intercontinental Film Distributors (HK) Ltd and based on the popular Pixar Disney movie, UP. Free entry for 12-24 year-olds in teams of up to six. Cash prizes are HK$$2,000 for the winning team and HK$1,500 for the first runner-up. Judges include Mr Lai Yiu Cheung (黎耀祥先生) and his son (黎正橋), original sound actors in the Cantonese soundtrack for UP. Public voting for the winners runs from 23-29 August at http://uchannel.hk/
