F5 Broadband hotline
Physical symptoms reveal students' exam worries
Peak exam time is here and hundreds of calls from
students are being taken on our hotline. The public examinations are always big hurdle for young people but this year their anxiety is heightened because of the economic crisis. Headaches, stomach pains, difficulty sleeping: these are all symptoms common to anyone who works in a competitive environment with deadlines. For the young it may be their first real experience of stress, so a top priority at the Federation is to alleviate the worry.

Federation counsellors try to explain that over-ambitious expectations do not help. The students themselves, and sometimes the parents whose dreams they want to fulfill, can exacerbate problems. There are many alternatives available for students who don't achieve the grades they hoped for. A sensible attitude, learning to relax, eating and sleeping well are important. So is knowing that guidance is at hand. If you know anybody who needs help, parents or students, please tell them to call us. We will be standing by on Form 5 Broadband 2777 1112.
