Preparing for job insecurity
With the world going into recession young people have to cope with uncertainty. Unemployment among 15-19 year-olds and 20-24 year-olds
was 17.3% and 7.9% respectively according to the latest figures. It is expected to rise sharply, and forming a support network to identify and connect with those in greatest need is the current goal of our youth employment network.

HKFYG career guidance and life planning for those joining the workforce after Form 3, Form 5 and Form 7 focuses on our Life-banking training programme. At present this takes place at 67 schools and will be stepped up in the coming months. A new programme, My Choice, geared specifically for Form 3 students about to tackle the new 3-3-4 curriculum, will shortly be launched. A number of other new initiatives are coming on stream to help with unemployment. Youth Matters will keep you informed.

Power Logistics' kind support of printing costs enables HKFYG to extend exposure for both schemes. For full details of both of these programmes please contact Bonnie, tel 3755 7101
