Olympic postcards for a golden souvenir
Spectacular images of the Chinese stars of the Olympic Games are captured for youth and posterity on a set of postcards available to young people via HKFYG's youth website u21.hk this week.
They remind us all how hard work, determination and striving for excellence can have undreamed of results. The sets of cards have been produced courtesy of the New Island Printing Co, with photos supplied by Sing Tao Daily and the Xinhua News Agency. They will be an inspiration to every young person.

沒有想過結果會怎樣,把過程做好就好了
I didn't think of the results, I just tried my best.

Youthline 27778899 gives hot tips on adjusting to school
Youthline's recent survey of 470 Primary 1 to Form 5 students found a third of them feeling nervous as the new school year approached. The main worry was that the new curriculum would be too hard. Other concerns were losing good friends moving to other classes this year, finding it hard to make new friends and being unable to afford new text books. Concerned parents calling the
Youthline
hotline were encouraged to pay careful attention to their children's emotional state and offer support whenever they saw a need.

Youth polls on the Olympics
HKFYG's Youth Poll no. 176 collected feedback from young people on the Olympics and asked whether they thought the Games had helped China become more internationally integrated. Two surveys were conducted. The first, with 507 respondents aged 15-39, took place before the opening ceremony. The second polled 343 young people aged 15-39 from 17-21 August 2008.
The earlier survey showed that 44% of respondents thought the strongest aspect of China's international image was that it had "moved forward."
Nearly 30% felt proud of their country's ability to host such an event.
Over 86% shared the view that hosting the Games was an important step forward in the process of integration with the international community.
Over 47% believed that China's economic development was the best indicator of this integration.

In the later survey, over 61% said that their sense of pride in being Chinese had grown since the Games began. This was a record high for an HKFYG survey. Of all the Chinese athletes, the most admired were Guo Jingjing (43.0%), Liu Xiang (24.8%) and Yang Wei (22.1%)
